Michura - Cecelia A., “Cel”, passed away on July 1st 2022. Cel was born on November 7, 1930, daughter of Jose and Catherine (Krzysko) Tremul.
Cel was preceded in death by parents, husband of 64 years, Edward Stanley Michura; loving son, Edward Jose Michura, who passed away on December 6, 2015; brother, Dr. J. R. Tremul; cousin and best friend, Rosie Fedora.
Survived by daughter in law, Diane (Hutsky) Michura of Beech Creek PA; granddaughter, Katie (Michura) Petersen, married to David Petersen, Linden PA; great grandson, Adam Gabriel Petersen and great granddaughter, Anna Cecelia Petersen; sister in law, Josephine Tremul, Grove City; niece, Cecelia Underwood, Grove City; nephew, Jose Tremul, Wilmington NC, Tremul families from Pamploma and Barcelona, Spain, and friends, Annette Saylor, Mary Miller, and Jodie Dill (caregiver) all of Johnstown PA.
Cecelia was a lifelong member of the Church of the Transfiguration. She graduated in 1949 from Franklin High School. Cel was a math aide for the Conemaugh Valley Elementary school district. She enjoyed “camp” St. Cecelia in Elk County PA, where she was an avid hunter. Cecelia was a member of the Y.W.C.A and enjoyed swimming with her beloved friends. She was a great cook and baker and is well remembered for her pigs in a blanket and nut roll. She was a loyal Steeler fan and took cheering for her team very seriously. Cel and Ed loved to talk, tell jokes, and visit with their many friends. She loved to yard sale, quilt, and was an adept bargain hunter. She was a lover of small children and all animals (except cats). During her last 6 months Cecelia lived at Nippenose Valley Village where she enjoyed the closeness of family, the caring staff and made new friends. While she regretted leaving her home, being at Nippenose brought out her sense of humor and wit making her last months vibrant and full.
At Cecelia’s request, there will be no public viewing. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 13th, the Church of the Transfiguration, Fr. Robert C. Hall, Pastor. Private inurnment will be at the Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Cambria County Humane Society 743 Galleria Ext, Drive Johnstown PA in Cecelia’s memory. The family is being served by the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh. Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
