Cecelia F. Korber

Korber, Cecelia F., 86, of Bon Air, went to be with the Lord on January 15, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. Born on March 5, 1927 in Carrolltown, PA, daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Sczot) Kontorchik. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry W. Korber; sisters, Amelia (Walter) Ponczek, and Pauline (Otto) Tulowitzki; brothers, Stanley (Anne), Simon (Edna), and Edward Kontorchik. She is survived by her loving children, Harry J. Korber, Bon Air, Larry J. (Judy) Korber, Cherry Tree, PA, Richard A., (Stephanie) Korber, Elton, PA, Pamela J. (Richard Sr.) Barkley, Roanoke, VA, and Kimberly Korber-Grasser, Windber, PA; grandchildren, Richard Barkley Jr., Nicole (Michael) Conrad, Michael (Clairese) Barkley, and Joshua (Danette) Wike; great grandchildren, Shawn and Amanda Barkley, and Sophia and Cecilia Conrad; siblings, Pearl and Thomas Kontorchik both of Carrolltown, PA; numerous nieces and nephews, including devoted niece and nephew, Veronica Hamula and Fred Ponczek. Also her companion, “Pepper”. Cecelia was a high school graduate and was employed at the former McCrory’s Department Store. Cecelia also worked for many years at Conemaugh Township Election Board. She was a member of SS. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Bon Air and S.N.P.J. Lodge # 254. Cecelia enjoyed playing Balina, BINGO and gambling trips. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who was completely devoted to her family. Cecelia will be greatly missed by all. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Sunday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday at SS. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Bon Air, Father Robert Ruston. Committal will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park..
