Cecelia F. Connell

Connell, Cecelia F., 86, of Upper Yoder Township, went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2013 at Manor Care, Monroeville, PA. She was born on October 6, 1926 in Johnstown, PA. Daughter of George E. and Mabel A. (Hollabaugh) Gross. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, George and Ted Gross; sisters, Alice Rose, Agnes Miller, Esther Gaunter, and Vera Barkehimer and son-in-law, Terence L. Mitnik. Cecelia was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her loving daughters, Linda L. Mitnik, Pittsburgh, Barbara F. Connell, Johnstown; granddaughter, Renee, Bedford; grandson, Dana (Angela) Mitnik, Turtle Creek, PA; sister-in-law, Victoria Gross, IL and several nieces and nephews. Cecelia was a graduate of Dale High School. She retired from Conemaugh Hospital, where she was employed as a Supervisor in the Sewing Room. Cecelia enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling. She was a devoted mother who loved spending time with her family. Friends will be received from 2-7 P.M. on Wednesday and from noon until time of service at 1 P.M. on Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Ronald Reed officiating. Entombment will be at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum.
