Catherine S. Siwy

Siwy, Catherine S. “Stella” 89, of East Taylor Twp. Died Dec. 13, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by family. Born Oct. 25, 1924, in Poland. Daughter of the late Franciszek and Maria (Gniewek) Brudz. Also preceded in death by husband, Stephen J. Siwy. Survived by children; Lucyna “Lucy” Sellers, FL; Mark (Joan Vizi), Ebensburg; Joseph (Rebecca Wess), Johnstown; Stephen, Jr. (Lori Hurst), Pittsburgh; and Richard (Sherri Vivis), Mineral Point; 14 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Former member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and presently a member of Church of the Transfiguration, Conemaugh. Also a member of former G.N.A.T Sewing Club.  Stella came to America in 1956. She was employed at Insleys Dress Shop as a seamstress. Stella loved flowers, enjoyed working in the garden and looked forward to having lunch with her friends at the Senior Center.  She was a wonderful wife, mother and “Babcia” who will be sadly missed. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh where Vigil Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at Church of the Transfiguration.
