WEHNER---Carole J., 82, Salix, went to her eternal resting place on July 16, 2024 while she was at home. She was born on Jan. 4, 1942 to Edward and Helen (Yuhas) Klosky in Johnstown, PA. Carole was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Herbert "Herb" Wehner; sons, Dr. Joseph (Susan Bintinger) Wehner of Wilmington, NC and James (Becky Beyer) Wehner of Summerhill, PA; along with grandchildren, Katie (Jack) Hough, Meggie (Kyle) Richards, Joey (Ashley) Wehner, Shelly Wehner, Johnny Wehner, Jesse Wehner, Jared Wehner, and Josi Wehner; and her great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Evie Hough. Carole was born and raised as an only child in Cambria City. She worked at Penn Traffic as an accounting assistant where she met the love of her life, Herb. Carole became a beloved wife, proud mother, and cherished grandmother – her true legacy in life. The devotion that she had to her family and the countless lives that she has touched will live on forever. She had a passion for traveling with Herb often visiting lighthouses. Another interest was watching dolphins while she and Herb stayed at their winter home in Florida. Similar to the characteristics of a dolphin, she cared deeply for those she loved, always wanting to be with and provide for others. Throughout her married life, Carole attended SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Windber, where she served as an officer of the Mary Guild and as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a valuable leader in the preparation of the church's 90 th Anniversary celebration. In addition to her dedication to the church, she enjoyed family time while boating and camping with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Carole was a crossword puzzle connoisseur, and she looked forward to card games with her grandchildren. She was also an honored great-grandmother. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2024 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland where a vigil will be held. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Windber, with Fr. Lawrence Lacovic. The entombment will follow at the Richland Cemetery Mausoleum.
