Caleb G. Butler Jr.

Butler Jr. – Caleb G., 90, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on September 21, 2017 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born on August 2, 1927 in Johnstown, son of Caleb G Sr. and Bertha (Cox) Butler. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathy; brother, Donald. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Pauline W. (Wilson) Butler; sons, Robert P., married to the former Roberta R. Lynch, Richland Township; grandchildren, Erica J. Butler, Greensburg, PA, Scott R., Washington, DC, and Kelly R., wife of Luke Forrest, Cranberry, PA; great granddaughters, Eliana Butler and Elsie Forrest. Caleb was a graduate of Johnstown High School, and then attended UPJ for 2 years. He was a US Army Air Force Veteran serving during WWII. Caleb retired as Supervisor of Construction from PENELEC after 38 years of service. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, and founding member of the Johnstown Radio Control Club. Caleb enjoyed flying model planes, golfing, and traveling with his wife, Pauline. Caleb loved spending time with his entire family, especially his grandchildren and great granddaughters. Friends will be received from noon until time of service at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Larry G. Dunn officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. Private burial will be at Richland Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Bethany United Methodist Church, 112 Leventry Road, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Caleb.
