C. Joyce Deter

Deter, C. Joyce, 79, of Geistown. Went to be with the Lord on May 21, 2017 at Arbutus Park Manor.  Born May 21, 1938 in Johnstown, daughter of the late John and Betty (Given) Beatty.  Also, preceded in death by first husband, Harman A. Graham, Jr.; second husband, Clarence “Dick” Berkey; daughter, Pamela J. Harnett; and son, John W. Graham.  Survived by husband, Daniel “Dan” Deter; son, Harman “Skip” and wife, Michelle “Mickey” (Huff) Graham; step-children Lisa, wife of William Holzbaur; Tracey, wife of Robert Marvulli; and Kelly, wife of Jack Clark; grandchildren Nicole Friedline; Tara, wife of Jeff Klein; Mike Vandolah; step grandchildren Danielle Chimera; Elizabeth Chimera; PJ Chimera; Sarah Clark and Keith Clark; and four step great grandchildren; siblings Valerie, wife of the late Ronald Knipple; Denise, wife of Eddie Rummel; Darlene, wife of Bob Harbaugh; David and wife Mary Lou Beatty; Christy, wife of Rick Harshberger, and many nieces and nephews; special friends Barbara Bird; Lorraine Walters; and Betty Hoffman.   She was a 1956 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School.  Joyce retired from Bird Electric where she was a bookkeeper.  Member of Belmont United Methodist Church.  Volunteered at her church and Arbutus Park Manor.  She enjoyed putting puzzles together, reading novels, playing games, traveling with friends and family and sitting on her porch with her husband, Dan, listening to her wind chimes watching the birds.  Joyce was an avid NASCAR and Steeler fan.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed deeply by all.  The family suggests donations be made to the Belmont United Methodist Church in her memory.  Friends received 2-4 and 6-8pm on Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where service will be held at 11am on Thursday.  Pastor Keith Dunn, officiating.  Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  (On line condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com)
