Brenda J. Gordon

Gordon, (Custer) Brenda J., 63, of Windber, formerly of Richland.  Passed away on April 16, 2013 at Windber Hospice after an eight year courageous battle with breast cancer. Born December 12, 1949, in Johnstown. Daughter of the late J. Heil and Margaret M. (Leffler) Custer.  Also preceded in death by Sister Dawn Warnert and Brother James H. Custer.  Survived by Husband, David W. Gordon and these Daughters; Joy (Scott) Will, Ligonier; Dana (Kristopher) Newcomer, Central City; Sally (Chad) Bunk, Windber; and Kristy (Jeffery) Richardson, Central City.  Grandchildren; Meghan (William) Menke, Madison, Ethan and Emily Will; Justin (Taylor) Newcomer, Jacob Puglia, Danielle and Krysta Newcomer; Breanna Gordon, Trenten and Jocelyn Bunk; Joseph and Zakery Richardson. Great-grandson Nikolas Smith; sisters, Barbara (Don) Zimmer and Kathy McClane. Also best friend of 58 years, Linda L. Cairns. 1968 graduate of Richland High School and GJCTC LPN Program. Formerly employed by Bestform JDC and Arbutus Manor where Brenda greatly cared for the patients in the Crossroads Unit. An avid reader who enjoyed her children and grandchildren. In recent years she enjoyed camping at Hillegass Campground. Family and friends received from 2-5 PM Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where service will be held at 5 PM. Private interment. Family suggests donations to Windber Hospice or Windber Hospital ER Expansion Project, 600 Somerset Ave. Windber, PA 15963 in memory of Brenda.
