Bonnie L. Simasek-Fuge

d. September 20, 2015

Simasek-Fuge, Bonnie L., 72, of Richland Township. Died Sept. 20, 2015, at Windber Hospice. Born May 5, 1943, in Johnstown. Daughter of the late Homer W. and Helen K. (Chapple) Moore. Also preceded in death by first husband, Ronald J. Simasek; sisters, Jo Riddle, Sara Jane Kushner; and brother, Robert D. Moore; and father and mother in laws, Bernard and Josephine Simasek. Survived by husband, Jeffrey Fuge; children; Rona, wife of Randy Hillegas, Windber; Shari, wife of Bill Polacek; and Dr. Melissa, wife of Forrest Fordham, III, both of Richland. Grandchildren; William Polacek, II and fiancée’, Stacy Gillin, Pittsburgh; Blake Polacek, Pittsburgh; Jacob Hillegas, Bremerton, WA; Madison Polacek, Forrest Fordham, IV, Carter Polacek, Grant Fordham and Sophia Fordham, all of Richland. Also Jeffrey’s children, Shauna, wife of Mark Saylor and Garrett Fuge; and grandchildren, Sophia, Natalie and Benjamin Saylor. Sister of Homer “Bill” Moore, married to the former Bonnie Gabany, Penn Run; and sister in law of Robert Kushner, Vinco. Bonnie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, and friend. She worked out of her house as a hair stylist to support her three daughters (who were known as “Bonnie’s girl’s”) along with her ailing husband Ron until his untimely death in 1982. With courage and love in heart she educated all three of her girls while opening up her new salon in East Conemaugh called Beauty and Bronze, where you could get a great hair style along with some encouraging motherly advice for all the Conemaugh Valley students, She was a Johnstown Chamber of Commerce member and was the Belle of the ball at chamber mixers. If you went more than once you knew Bonnie, as it seemed to be her life mission to get to know everyone so that she could give you that contagious smile and find out that one uplifting compliment that could turn your day around. Bonnie loved to dance and took it more seriously when she became a member of Sherry Lynn’s Ballroom Dancing and then began competing in Johntown’s “Dancing with the Stars” with her husband Jeff. Bonnie loved to get dressed up, dance and socialize. Her youthful looks and beauty inside and out could not go unnoticed. Bonnie loved spending her time with her family and her love has been woven into the very fabric of their lives, especially her grandchildren that loved, adored and respected her and will never forget the love, laughter and encouraging wisdom that will be permanently placed in their hearts. Bonnie never had a son, but treated her three sons-in law as though they were her own constantly encouraging them to achieve in life, love, family, and faith and in her direct way accepted nothing less for her greatest treasures in life Rona , Shari and Melissa. Even though Alzheimer’s took Bonnie’s voice, she spoke with her heart and you knew what she couldn’t say. Now her family has another guardian angel that is very easy to pick out…she is the sparkling one, smiling, laughing, and is now truly dancing with the stars. Friends received from 6-8 Pm Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil service will be held.
