HORTEN --- Boknamsik Lim “Lynn,” 75, Johnstown, died March 21st 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. Born April 28th, 1947, in Busan, South Korea, daughter of Yoonhak Park (Mother) and Chungho Lim (Father). Preceded in death by parents and two sisters, Unsoon Lim and Gusooon Lim. Survived by husband Donald R. “Shorty” Horten; sons, David (So Yeun), Ben (Madelynn) and Matt (Carla); grandchildren, Kyna, Zachary, Kyra, Abby, Silas, and Lia. Also survived by one sister Hyunsoon Lim and nieces and nephews. Lynn immigrated on a fiancé visa in December 1975. Lynn worked at the USPS office in Johnstown. She greatly enjoyed cooking Korean food. She had a small Korean grocery store and take out restaurant in historic district of Moxham. She ran a Korean food concession stands for many years at Cambria County Fair and also participated for several years at the downtown Johnstown festivals. She ran numerous restaurants during her life. In many ways, Lynn personified the American Dream. The family will receive friends from 3 pm to 7 pm Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown with Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal, St. Joseph Cemetery.
