Gjurich, Blaine L., âBunnyâ, 90, Johnstown, formerly of Conemaugh. Died September 3, 2013, at The Presbyterian Home of Johnstown. Born Feb. 26. 1923, in Conemaugh. Son of the late Lazo and Damjena (Buchan) Gjurich. Also preceded in death by wife, Elizabeth âLeeâ (Georgi); siblings, Dorothy Gvozdich, Milan Gjurich, Sr., Zora Locher and Helen âCookieâ Saula. Survived by these children; Elaine (William) Keiser, Blaine, Jr., John âPudgeâ (Val Figura), Thomas and Susanna Gjurich; Grandsons; Thomas Keiser and Nicholas Gjurich. Brother of Sylvester âPetiâ Gjurich and Betty âBossieâ Vuckovich. Also brother-in-law, Milan âMitchâ Saula and sister-in-law, Vickie Gjurich. Numerous nieces and nephews. Army Veteran of WWII who fought in the Battle of the Bulge. 1941 graduate of Conemaugh High School, 1950 graduate of Waynesburg College and received a Masters Degree from West Virginia University. Bunny was most proud of his career in education and athletics, retiring from Johnstown School District in 1985. Member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church where Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, Very Rev. Frank P. Miloro, Officiating. Interment at St. Petka Cemetery. Friends received 2 to 8 PM Friday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Pomen will be held at 7 PM Friday and Funeral Prayers will begin at 10 AM Saturday.
