Crowell – Birgit, “Oma” 62, Adams Township, went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2022 at UPMC Shadyside. Born on January 6, 1960 in Bad Wimpfen, Germany, daughter of Ludwig and Dorothea (Stroetmann) Weitzel. Preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Uli Ludwig

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Paul R. Crowell; sons, Jefferson, Eric (Kathleen), Aaron (Ashleigh), and Daniel Crowell; grandchildren, Noah, Lillian, Leo, and Kade; siblings, Jochen (Elke) Weitzel, Brigitta Ernst, Joachim Ernst, and Angelika (Michael) Trassl, and several nieces and nephews.

Birgit spent a great deal of her time volunteering at Windber Hospice. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and performing reiki. She mostly loved spending time with her entire family, especially her grandchildren. Birgit will be remembered for her kind, loving nature.

At Birgit’s request there will be no public viewing. Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 9^th, at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests contributions be directed to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Avenue, Windber, PA 15963 in memory of Birgit.
