Betty F. Friedman

Friedman, Betty F. 89, of Geistown. Died August 1, 2011, at the Church of the Brethren Home, Windber. Born April 19, 1922, in Elton. Daughter of the late John H. and Lillian N. (Crouse) Fye. Also preceded in death by husband William J.; sisters, Evelyn Kaley, Laura Harbaugh; brothers, Wellington “Kid”, Harold “Dutch”; 2 infant siblings and son-in-law, John “Jack” Erwin. Survived by daughters, Linda Erwin and Janice, wife of Norman Snyder, both of Johnstown. Grandchildren, Jason and Joel Erwin and Laura, Sarah and Lydia Snyder. Numerous nieces and nephews. Member of the 1941 graduating class of Johnstown High School. Former secretary at Richland High School. Member of Belmont United Methodist Church. Betty was a wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Friends received 2-8 pm Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Funeral Service will be held at 11 am Thursday. Rev. Keith Dunn, Officiating. Interment at Richland Cemetery. Family suggests donations to the Humane Society of Cambria County, 743 Galleria Dr. Ext., Johnstown, Pa. 15904, in honor of Betty’s love for animals.
