Bernice E. Eash

Eash, Bernice E., 89, of Geistown, passed away on July 3, 2015, at Windber Church of the Brethren. She was born on July 28, 1925, in Johnstown. Daughter of the late John Henry and Clara (Happ) Foust. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husband, Earl C. Eash; brother, William and sister, Genevieve Wainwright. Survived by these children, Gary, married to the former Joanne White, Rahway, N.J., Richard, Reading, PA, Janet, wife of Rod Grisin, Middletown, DE, and Mark, married to the former Mary Ann Rovan, Johnstown; grandchildren, Cara (Jeffrey) Fay, Wilmington, DE, and Amanda Grisin, Middletown, DE; sister, Eleanor Playez, Memphis, TN and numerous nieces and nephews. Bernice retired from Richland School District. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown and former member of the Track II Square Dancing Club, Salix. Bernice was a member of the Geistown Volunteer Fire Company, Ladies Auxiliary and the Democratic Club, Geistown. She enjoyed square dancing and was very involved in community organizations, but most of all she loved her family. Bernice’s family would like to thank the entire staff at Windber Church of the Brethren Home for their compassion and care. Visitation from 6-8 P.M. on Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at Richland Cemetery.
