Bernice A. Barkhimer

Barkhimer – Bernice A., 75, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2015 at The Church of the Brethren Home. Born on January 30, 1939 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Bernard and Alice (Urovich) Gigliotti. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, William E. Barkhimer, Richland Township; children, Sheri A (David Bowers) Barkhimer, both of Cresson, PA and Scott A. Barkhimer, Richland Township; granddaughters, Melody Barkhimer, Johnstown, Miranda and Marrah Barkhimer both of Hollsopple, PA and several nieces and nephews. Bernice was a 1956 graduate of Johnstown High School. She retired from Barkhimer Insurance Agency, where she was employed as a secretary. Bernice was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Johnstown and a long standing member of the J.H.S. Reunion Committee. She will be remembered as a generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. at Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Alice Tondora officiating. Private entombment will be at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum. The family suggests contributions be directed to the First Presbyterian Church, 309 Lincoln Street, Johnstown, PA 15901 in memory of Bernice.
