DIXON—Bernard, 84, Laurel View Village, Davidsville, passed away on August 30, 2024 at the Village. Born Dec. 27, 1939, Kenton, Delaware, son of Thomas and Blanche (Reed) Dixon. Preceded in death by parents; son, Kenneth and brother, Tom. Survived by wife of 38 years, Nancy E. (Thomas) Dixon; daughters, Cindy (Ron) Criswell, Nottingham, PA and Karen (Eric) Mennig, Lancaster, PA; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brian) Henry, Stephen (Amber) Criswell, Rachel (Aaron) Herr, Erin (Austin) Kilgore, Leighann (Jared) Esbenshade and David (Amber) Mennig and 15 great-grandchildren. Brother of Greg Dixon, Smyrna, DE and Lorraine Newell, Nottingham, PA. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bernard enjoyed hunting, meeting his breakfast crew at the diner every day, was an avid gun collector and spent years as the friendly neighborhood mower repair man. Bernard loved working on cars and lawnmowers. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with friends and family. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2024 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with Rev. Eric Lasure officiating. Committal, Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
