Barry D. Himes Sr.

Himes – Barry D. Sr., 79, Richland, went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2022 at home. Born on October 20, 1942 in Johnstown, son of Arthur F. and Vera M. (Abler) Himes. Preceded in death by his parents; 1^st wife, Jacklyn V. (Muscarella) Himes, and brothers, Gary, Dennis and Francis. He is survived by his loving 2^nd wife, Dana J. (Wingard) Himes; children, Barry D. (Lori) Himes Jr., Ferndale, Carrie A. (Donald) Restivo, Richland, and John F. (Lori) Himes, Harrisburg, PA; grandchildren, Michael Restivo, Andrew Restivo and his special friend, Kierstan Warshel, Kyler Himes and his special friend, Abby Morosco, Jacklyn Himes, Samantha Himes, Korie Himes and her fiancée, Todd Crum, and Kara Himes; great grandchildren, Carter, Everlee, Oliver, and Cayden, and several nieces and nephews. Barry was a graduate of Johnstown High School. He was a US Air Force Veteran. Barry retired from W.C. McQuaide Inc. after 41 years of service, working as an Accounts Receivable Manager. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. Anyone that knew Barry was touched with his kindness and generosity. His greatest joy was to watch his grandchildren and nephews participate in their activities. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing, Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Steelers, and most of all spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at Richland Cemetery with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team.
