Barbara L. Barker

Barker, Barbara L., 58, of Richland Township. Died April 17, 2013, at Windber Hospice after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Born November 30, 1954 in Johnstown. Daughter of the late Donald H. and Dorothy H. (Stroud) Saylor. Survived by loving husband of 39 years, Rian C. Barker whom she married August 18, 1973; Son Brett, Pittsburgh; Daughter Caryn, Johnstown; Brother Keith (Paula) Saylor, Johnstown; and sister Carolyn (J.D.) Rubal. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Barb was a 1972 graduate of Richland High School where she participated as a majorette. Member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Co-owner with her husband of This-N-That variety stores and wholesale. Formerly employed by Gee Bee Furniture store, Richland Middle School, Saylor Brothers Hardware, and Green Earth Mechanical/Mission Critical Solutions. Barb enjoyed bowling, NASCAR races, volleyball, and was an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports teams. She was a loving wife and mother. Friends received 1-4 and 5-8 pm Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 10 am to 11 am time of service Monday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Pastors Custead, officiating. Interment at Richland Cemetery. Family suggests donations to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave. Windber, PA 15963 or Mt.
