Audrus E. Rose

Rose, Audrus E., 94, of Richland, formerly of Elton. Died Dec. 7, 2015, at Windber Hospice. Born May 24, 1921, in Johnstown. Daughter of the late Edward Miller and Nellie Ripple-Makin. Also preceded in death by step father, Albert Makin; husband, Clarence E. Rose, Sr.; granddaughter, Amy Weeks; siblings, Norman and George Makin; and Evelyn Block and Donna Snyder. Survived by children; Clarence E. (Mary Jo) Rose, East Liverpool, OH; Dailey E. (Diane) Rose, Dundee, NY; and Peggy D. (Roger) Houghton, Sidman; and Mary (Pat) Lockhart, Martinsburg, WV. and “Sidekick”, Ray G. Lehman, Windber, PA. Also 9 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren; and  sister in law, June Makin. Audrus was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a retired Chef at several local restaurants. Member of Zion Elton United Methodist Church, Christian Women Society; Youth Fellowship leader; and Social Member of Menoher Post #155, VFW. Audrus enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, reading, dancing and hunting. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where service will be held at 11 AM Thursday. Pastor Daryl Penrod, officiating. Interment at Richland Cemetery. Family suggests donations to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave. Windber, PA. 15963  in memory of Audrus.
