Churchey – Annabelle E., 93, of Geistown Borough, went to her eternal rest on April 17, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at her residence. Born on June 30, 1924, in Johnstown, daughter of Fred W. and Susann (Maytas) Burns. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett H. Churchey Jr.; grandson, Michael Alan McClain; and brothers, Frederick R. and Robert F. Burns. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Annabelle is survived by her loving children, Joyce A., wife of Ronald C. Evitts, Hooversville; and Kenneth R., married to the former Patricia L. Claycomb, Geistown Borough; grandchildren, Scott A. McClain, married to the former Dina C. Facciani, Everett J. Churchey, married to the former Jessica R. Craig, both of Windber; Elizabeth S., wife of Jorge M. Sanchez, Johnstown; and Kacee, wife of Jeff Hunt, Quincy, MA; and great grandchildren, Marcey L., wife of Matthew Beach, Whitsett, NC, Catherine A. McClain, serving in the US Navy in FL, Caroline A. and Sean M. McClain both of Windber, Donnavan M., Hunter J., Annabella S., and Savannah R. Sanchez all of Johnstown, Everett J., and Jaxon R. Churchey, both of Windber, Eleanor Hunt, Quincy, MA; great-great grandson, Lucas T. Beach, Whitsett, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Annabelle was employed as a bookkeeper for various businesses in the area and also an organ teacher for several years with Music Haven. She was a member of University Park Church of God, where she was the pianist, choir member, treasurer, and volunteered much of her time. Annabelle was an excellent cook and seamstress. She was an avid Steelers, Pirates and NASCAR fan and enjoyed any sport that her family was involved in. Annabelle loved her family and will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grand, great, and great-great grandmother. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Thursday at University Park Church of God, with the Rev. Byron C. Fultz officiating. Entombment will be at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum. The family suggests contributions be directed to University Park Church of God Building Fund, 4070 Elton Road, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Annabelle.
