Smoter, Anna A., 94, of East Taylor Township, went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on June 1, 1917 in Nowy Targ, Poland, daughter of Teodor and Amiela Chraca. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank J. Smoter and 2 sisters. She is survived by her loving children, John F., married to the former Kathleen Lack, East Taylor Township and Mariann, wife of Nicholas A. Cerimele, Richland Township; grandchildren, Michele and John Paul Smoter, and Bradley and Kimberly Modic and several nieces and nephews. Anna came to the US to be with her uncle, Father John Chraca, who was the priest at the former Assumption of the BVM Catholic Church, East Conemaugh. She was very active in the church and its choir. Anna was an active parishioner at the Church of the Transfiguration. She was employed at Bestform and Glosser Brothers. Anna enjoyed BINGO, bowling, shopping and playing pinochle at the Jackson Township Senior Center. She loved cooking, tending her garden and spending time with her grandchildren. At Annaâs request there will be no public viewing. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. on Monday at the Church of the Transfiguration, Father Robert C. Hall. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Assumption Cemetery. The family is being served by the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231` First Street, Conemaugh.
