Anna Mary Courtney

COURTNEY----Anna Mary (Rosage), 97, of Johnstown, passed away in her sleep on December 17, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Arthur in 1991 and an infant daughter. In addition, she was, predeceased by her siblings and their spouses: Norbert (Leona), Msgr. David Rosage, Bernard (Ethel), Barbara Lapenta (Don), and Elmer (Betty). She is survived by her children: Kathy Zipser (Randy), John (Jack) Courtney and Linda Talarigo (Ross). In addition she is survived by step-grandson, Bryan Zipser (Melissa) and step-great granddaughters Bella and Kayleigh. Anna Mary was the last surviving child of John and Otlena (Sellman). She has many godchildren, nieces and nephews who will miss her. She always had a smile and a hug ready for all takers! Anna Mary was very social. She loved all people. She enjoyed entertaining and making meals for her friends and family. Anna Mary had a soft spot in her heart for all animals, especially dogs. Anna Mary lived in Richland Township for her adult life. She worked for many years in the bakery at Riverside Market. In retirement, she volunteered at Windber Hospice for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, traveling, and going to the casino with her friends Bill and Kay.

Anna Mary will be remembered for her friendliness and sweet smile by all who knew her. She will be missed by her friends at Graystone Court and those she made among the staff and residents at Amber Springs. Her family is grateful for the care and kindness she received from the staff at Amber Springs. Anna Mary’s internment at Grandview Cemetery will be private. A Celebration of Her Life will be held in the Spring. The family suggests memorial donations be directed to the Humane Society of Cambria County, 743 Galleria Dr., Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Anna Mary Courtney.
