Anna R. Govaker

Govaker – Anna R., “Ann”, 92, Windber, went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 5, 1927 in Johnstown, daughter of Francis Sr. and Laura O. (Cale) Daley. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Govaker, and siblings, Betty Miller and Francis Daley Jr. She is survived by her loving children, Laura Diann (George) Kohan, Richland, Margaret J. (Vernon) Snyder, Windber, and Charles J. (Donna) Weyant Jr., Rostraver, PA Karen (Paul) Tetor, Greentown, PA; grandchildren, James F. (Paula) Mundok, Laurie Ann (Rob) Cecil, Gregory A. (Nancy) Mundok, and George M. (Eman) Kohan Jr.; 5 great grandchildren; 2 great-great granddaughters; several nieces, nephews and former husband, who she remained close friends with throughout the years, Charles J. Weyant Sr. Anna retired from Encore Restaurant after 25 years of service as a Supervisor. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Windber. Anna was also a member of a Pinochle Club, and Menoher Post #155 V.F.W.  She was an avid bowler, and enjoyed camping, dancing, and listening to music. Anna loved her dog, Mitzi, but especially loved spending time with her family. Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Arbutus Park Manor, especially the Cross Roads Unit. At Anna’s request, there will be no public viewing. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Harris Funeral Home, with the Pastor Ruth Kocha Jensen officiating. Private entombment will be at Grandview Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 514 Shady Lane, Windber, PA 15963 in memory of Anna.
