Anna M. Eicher

Eicher, Anna M., 91, of Ferndale Borough, passed away peacefully at home after a long courageous battle with cancer on Mar. 3, 2016. She was born on November 24, 1924 in Johnstown. Daughter of Joseph and Ottilia (Shoemaker) Markferding. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Jack D. “Shorty” Eicher; infant sister, Mary Magdalene; sister, Catherine Hollern; brother, Joseph Markferding. Survived by her loving sons, John J. “Jack”, Johnstown and Jeffrey L., Ferndale; and granddaughter, Lori wife of Murray “Buck” Wolfhope; grandson, Scott; great grandchildren, Natasha, Logan, Angelece all of Magnolia, NJ; sister-in-law, Josephine Markferding, Johnstown; several nephews and nieces, including special niece, Sharon Hollern, Johnstown, and many special close friends, including Pat Meagher, Red and Carole Vogel; Jeremy Margic; and extended family Lois Wright and family all of Johnstown.   She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always had a smiling face and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Anna was a member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church, now St John Gualbert Cathedral. Friends received 2-4 and 6-9 PM Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland where Vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Wednesday at St. John Gualbert Cathedral. Very Rev. James F. Crookston, Pastor. Committal at Grandview Cemetery.
