Ann Simmons

Simmons – Ann, 69, Westmont, died Nov. 11, 2013, of cardiac failure at home.  Born Jan. 1, 1944, in Johnstown. Daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Hamonko) Simonovich.  Preceded in death by parents and husband, William (Bill) Simmons and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, including her Aunt Jenny (Jean Jerz) as Ann thought of her as her second mother.  Survived by beloved cousin, Jean Cuppett, her husband, Cary and their children, daughter Randi (Shawn) Malzi ; and  son, Chris; special cousins Walt Jerz and Leo Fronczek; all of Johnstown; and many other relatives and friends.  She is also survived by her faithful companion, her dog, Dougie, who never left her side, even in death.  Ann and her husband Bill moved to New Brunswick, New Jersey after marrying.  There, Ann was an executive administrative assistant for Johnson and Johnson Corporation.  Upon the untimely death of her husband, Ann returned to Johnstown and worked at Penn Highlands Community College until 2007 as an administrative assistant to Karen Deichert, former VP of Academic Affairs.  Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Nov 19, at 4 PM at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane in Richland.  The family requests your prayers in lieu of flowers.  Ann is at peace now with her beloved husband, Bill.
