Anita L. Sukenik

Sukenik – Anita L., 87, of Richland, went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2024 at Arbutus Park Manor. She was born on June 19, 1936, in Louisville, KY. Daughter of the late Bernard and Margaret (Lally) Willoughby. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Richard F. Sukenik, and sister, Carol Brugman.

Survived by loving children, Maryann Korenoski and Richard Michael (Catherine Hoover) Sukenik; grandchildren, Mark and Stephen Korenoski, and Jordyn Sukenik; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was a graduate of the University of Louisville. Anita retired from Greater Johnstown School District after 43 years of service as a teacher/Guidance Counselor. She was a member of Saint Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown; and CCD teacher. Anita was an avid Pinochle player. She was an avid Pirate Baseball fan. Anita also enjoyed line dancing and spending time with her family, dogs and especially her grandchildren.

Friends received 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Benedict Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal at Grandview Mausoleum.
