Szczur, Angeline Theresa, also known affectionately as “Dolly” and “AngDay”, 81, of Geistown Borough, passed peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center. Angeline was born on March 4, 1930 in Johnstown, and was the last surviving child of Joseph and Anna (Bala) Lech. Preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Walter and George; and her sisters - the "Lech sisters", Helen Bodnar, Stella Dziagwa, Phyllis Lech, Ann Raidl and Theresa Walters. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John Joseph Szczur of Geistown; and her children, Timothy John, Fort Myers Beach, FL, Joseph John, husband of Lisa (Miller), Richland Township, John Joseph, husband of Denise (Kuczinski), Rockville, MD, Maria Claire Szczur, Mechanicsburg, PA, Kathleen Marie, wife of Otho C. Bell, Pittsburgh, PA and Constance Ann, wife of Robert John Ramseth, Silver Spring, MD; grandchildren, Erik Robert and John Robert Ramseth, Joshua James, Bryan John and Katelyn Jo Szczur, Nicholas Casimir and Christopher Michael Szczur and numerous nieces and nephews and their children who she loved very much. Angeline was a 1948 graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church; the St. Benedict’s Rosary Makers and the Ladies Workshop. Visitation will be held from 7 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. on Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles Pastor. Committal will be held at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum. The family suggests contributions be directed to St. Benedict Catholic Church for Masses, 2310 Bedford Street, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Angeline.
