Kush â Andrew S., âAndyâ, 88, East Conemaugh Borough, went to be with the Lord on August 26, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. Born on November 22, 1925 in Windber, PA, son of Jacob and Mary (Putkalitzka) Kush. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Valeria Kush; infant grandson, Nathan Thomas Kush; brothers, Joseph and John; sisters, Helen Carter and Frances Washko. He is survived by his loving children, Diana M. Kush, East Conemaugh Borough and Lawrence A., married to the former Suellen Thomas, South Fork, PA; grandchildren, Joshua L. Kush, Martinsville, IN and Amanda S. Kush, South Fork, PA; sisters-in-law, Dolores Lowery and Shirley Conover, both of Johnstown; numerous nieces, nephews and special neighbors, Kevin and Holly Michael, East Conemaugh Borough. Andy was a graduate of Windber High School. He was a US Navy Veteran serving on the USS Apache during WW II. Andy retired from BAC Local Union, Johnstown, where he was employed as a brick layer for many years. He was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration; East Conemaugh Volunteer Firemenâs Club, where he enjoyed a little bit of flavor with his 7-UP. Andy enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and taking care of his yard. He loved his family dearly and left his mark with his brick laying skills all over Johnstown and Pittsburgh, especially his pride and joy, his sonâs fireplace. Andy was also a devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle. Andyâs family would like to thank everyone at Golden Living Center who cared for him. Friends will be received from 3-8 p.m. on Friday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Church of the Transfiguration, Fr. Robert C. Hall, Pastor. Committal will be at Assumption Cemetery with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team.
