KOLESAR----Andrew L., Mineral Point, went to meet his Lord and Savior on October 19, 2022. Born October 20, 1944, son of Andrew and Rosella Kolesar. Preceded in death by parents; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Jack Hartland, brother and sister-in-law, George and Carol Kolesar, nephew, George Kolesar Jr. and beloved daughter, Lori J. Kolesar (Toth). Survived by loving wife of 55 years, Carolyn (Miller) Kolesar; son, Matthew Kolesar(Kelly); grandchildren, Brandon Kolesar(Abby), Daniel Kolesar, Brooke Toth, Kevin Kolesar; and great-grandson, Noah Kolesar. Also survived by sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and Mark Gahagen; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Ann Miller and many nephews and nieces. Andy was a 1963 graduate of Johnstown High School. He was a sailor in the United States Navy from 1963-1967 and served two tours on the USS Ticonderoga during the Vietnam war as a member of VA-52. He was a former employee of US Steel Corporation and a retiree of Johnstown Corporation. Member of the former Second Brethren Church in Moxham and he belonged to the Daisytown Sportsman Club. Andy was an avid hunter, fisherman, and he had a love of aviation from the time he was a teenager. A memorial service will be held at Vinco Brethren Church (123 Adams Avenue, Vinco) on Saturday, October 22 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Benjamin Zylka officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Menoher VFW, Post #155 ritual team. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Andy’s memory to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963. The family is being served by Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home.
