Dobrota Sr. – Andrew P., “Andy”, 74, Geistown, went to be with the Lord on March 18, 2024 at The Villa Personal Care Home. Born on August 10, 1949 in Johnstown, son of Andrew Dobrota and Maryjane (Caddy) Dobrota, Johnstown. Preceded in death by his father; great grandson, Ahren DeHart, and numerous uncles and aunts of the Dobrota and Caddy family.  

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Ann (Freeman) Dobrota; son, Andrew P. Dobrota Jr., Johnstown; daughters, Christina Marie (Travis) Moschgat, Johnstown; grandchildren, Brandon and Nathan DeHart, and Dominic Dobrota; great grandchildren, Audrie and Bradley DeHart; brothers, Jim, John and George, and several nieces and nephews. 

 

Andy was a 1967 graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War as an Army trained truck convoy driver. One of Andy’s dislikes in life is that what he said was taken out of context at times. He retired from Bethlehem Steel and JWT after 45 years of service. He was a life time acting member of Menoher Post #155 V.F.W. Andy enjoyed long walks in the Johnstown area. Andy’s family would like to thank all the staff of The Villa Creast and AserCare Hospice that took care of him. 

 

At Andy’s request, there will be no public viewing or service. Private inurnment will at Oak Cemetery with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home.
