Picklo, Alice F., 82, of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2013. Born on February 26, 1931 in Johnstown. Daughter of Valentine and Magdeline (Sikora) Rzasa. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Picklo; siblings, Edward, Frances, Helen Dropko, John, Leonard, and Dolores Komar. She is survived by her loving children, Christine Picklo, wife of Alan Schwarz, Old Saybrook, CT; Jon and his soul mate, Jeanne Wess, Summerhill, PA and Cathy, AZ; sister, Irene âTootsieâ Kordell, Johnstown, close cousin Diane Leppert, Johnstown and several nieces and nephews. Alice was a 1949 graduate of Johnstown High School. She retired from Conemaugh Valley High School where she was employed as the Head Cook. Alice was a past active member of the former St. Casmirâs Catholic Church and belonged to the K.M.P. Singing Society. She was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration, where she assisted with many church meals. Alice was also active in the Polish Heritage Choir and member of the Conemaugh Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She also worked on East Taylor Townshipâs Election Board. Alice enjoyed crocheting, cooking, singing, bird watching and was an avid lover of cats. She will be remembered for all the wonderful meals and baked goods she prepared for many people in the area. Friends will be received from 3-7 P.M. on Wednesday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday at the Church of the Transfiguration, Fr. Robert C. Hall. Private inurnment will be at Headricks Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Humane Society of Cambria County, 743 Galleria Drive, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Alice.
