Alice R. Novak

Novak, Alice R., 90, of Oakland. Died Oct. 12, 2017, at home. Born March 4, 1927, in Johnstown. Daughter of the late George and Maude (Miller) Miller. Also preceded in death by husband, Robert E. Novak, Sr.; brothers Robert F. Miller and Charles G. Miller; and sisters Betty L. Strayer and Jessie M. Ickes. Survived by sons, Robert E. Novak, Jr and wife Linda (Hoover); and Gregory M. Novak and wife, Francine (Aveni); grandchildren Matthew Novak, Gregory Novak, Jr and wife Stacy (Weyandt), Tyler Novak and wife Jennifer (Mullen), Katelyn and husband, Ron Grados; great grandchildren, Hailey Jo Novak, Garrett Novak, Marshall Novak, Grayson Novak, Emily Grados, Jonathan Grados and Gabriel Novak; and sisters in law, Lois Miller McMahon and Geraldine Miller. Also, numerous nieces and nephews; and special cousin Bonnie Patton. A 1945 graduate of Dale High School and a 1948 graduate of C.V.M.H. School of Nursing. Alice was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church, Richland Society of Farm Women, Retired Nurses of Johnstown. Johnstown Red Hat Society (Queen), Alumni of C.V.M.H. School of Nursing and Anna Windolph Chapter 499, Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed Pinochle Club with the girls, study groups, having lunch with friends and church activities serving God with gladness. Alice was so thankful for a long and happy life with her family and friends. Visitation 3-7 PM Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 10 AM to time of service at 11 AM Thursday at Oakland United Methodist Church. Pastor Randy Bain, officiating.
