Mesaros, Alex, âAlâ, 85, of Franklin Borough, died April 9, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. Born on August 28, 1929 in Johnstown. Son of Alex Sr. and Mary (Kolostok) Mesaros. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene âRene-Didâ (Uzelac) Mesaros; brothers, Mike Mesaros, John Mesaros, Andy Mesaros, Andy Petlansky, and Mike Petlansky; sisters, Julia Gorman, and Mary Mancini; brothers-in-law, Joe Muharsky, Alex Gorman, and Al Mancini; sisters-in-law, Olga Petlansky, Mary Ann Mesaros, Frances Mesaros, and Olga Mesaros. Survived by loving children, his special care giver, Alex Scott, Franklin Borough, Michael D., Johnstown and Teresa A. âBerrikinsâ wife of Kevin Adams, Mineral Point; granddaughters, Megan âMegan Bethmaâ Percinsky, Johnstown, Tabitha âTabershâ wife of Brandon Studer, Davidsville, PA, Kayla âKaydediditâ wife of Ryan Love, Pittsburgh, Mandy âNew Joysieâ wife of Drew Baney, Johnstown, Nicole âThumpkinâ wife of Frankie Rovida, Johnstown, and Tasha âSugarplumieâ Adams and her fiancé Kevin Moore both of Mineral Point; great-grandchildren, Brody, Casey, and Landon Percinsky and, Greyson, Gemma, and Violet Studer, and Frankie Antonio Rovida; siblings, Irene, wife of John Kulba, East Stroudsburg, PA, Janet, wife of Bill Killenger, Windber, Mary âMadishâ Muharsky, Willowick, OH; sister-in-law, Lee Petlansky, Santa Maria, CA; numerous nieces, nephews and the Uzelac family. Al was a 1948 graduate of East Conemaugh High School. He had 4 years in the US Air Force Intelligence as a Sgt stationed in Nuremberg, Germany. Al was a Non-Commissioned Officer of all operations within 7050th Air Intelligence during the Korean War. He was a retired Millwright of 45 years at Bethlehem Steel. Al was a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church. He was a past Jr. Vice Commander and Commander of the Sgt. Michael Strank Post #5107 V.F.W., and member of the Conemaugh-Franklin American Legion, Post # 633; Fraternal Order of Eagles #1811, and Conemaugh PNA Group #1569. Al passions included the United States Military, horse shoes, playing the harmonica, flea markets, magic tricks, singing and entertaining family and friends, casinos, and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. His family would like to thank Conemaugh Regional Hospital-Good Sam, 5th floor staff, and Franklin Borough Ambulance Association for their care and kindness. Friends will be received from 2-8 P.M. on Sunday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Parastas will be sung at 8 P.M. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday at Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, Fr. Robert F. Oravetz. Committal will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Holy Trinity Cemetery, with Military Rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 V.F.W. Ritual Team.
