Adele McCreary

McCreary, Adele, 89, Johnstown. Died Dec. 28, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Jan. 20, 1923, in Johnstown. Daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude (Johnson) Carlson. Also preceded in death by husband, William; and son; William E. McCreary; sisters, Judy Howard and Helen Haupt. Survived by daughter, Mary Ann (Garry Anderson), AZ; sisters, Verna Frontz, Latrobe and Vera Kinsky, Johnstown; brother-in-law, Clifford McCreary; daughter-in-law, Mary McCreary, Richland; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Graduate of Johnstown High School and Cambria-Rowe Business College. Member of Albright United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, taking care of her invalid husband for 14 years. Adele was a homemaker and gardener. She loved to play cards and enjoyed spending time with her family. Friends received from 11 AM to time of service at 1 PM Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Rev. Marge Kiefer, Officiating.
